Conflict and war are inevitable in life Free Essays
We are going to be discussing ââ¬Å"Conflict and war are inevitable in life.â⬠First of all, you cannot imagine a world without conflict and war as they are happening every day. Human beings are prone to conflict and war. We will write a custom essay sample on Conflict and war are inevitable in life or any similar topic only for you Order Now War and peace are like Ying and Yang. They are combined and nothing can separate it. Needless wars occur around the world endlessly. Conflicts which are occurring now are: 1. Riots e.g: In Egypt. According to the BBC website, over 100 people have been killed due to the riots. You can disagree by sayingâ⬠however, the police in Egypt are controlling the riots and rioters begin to decrease by each day according to the BBC. This shows that conflicts can be resolved is not inevitable.â⬠1. Our fellow teachers, like our Mr Harland are going on strike this Wednesday due to their pensions. This is out of the context however this is still a way of causing troubles in our society. ââ¬Å"They are doing this because if they donââ¬â¢t they wonââ¬â¢t be able to survive anymore. It wonââ¬â¢t be fair on them would it?â⬠Letââ¬â¢s think back a few years. Racism was very common in the United States and in many parts of Europe. Conflict and wars were created due to racism. People had to suffer in order to survive. Americans used coloured people (black) as slaves to do their bidding. This was inevitable in life! Yes it was a tragedy however that too has been resolved. People change their ways to a greater good. Rosa Parks was an extraordinary example. She stood up towards the white people and due to this, racism was soon abolished. So if it wasnââ¬â¢t for Rosa Parks, would racism have gone even further? Would I be sitting here having this discussion? Wars also occurred and are still occurring in around the globe. For example 1. Afghanistan. The British have to assist as well which endangers many soldiers and innocent people who did not want any of this to occur. All this happened because of one man. (Gadaffi). We are still trying to maintain peace around the world by assisting those in need. However, isnââ¬â¢t helping in the war going to increase the number of battles fought and how many more should have to die? I have also heard that the war in Sri Lanka has ended and people are rebuilding their lives. Wars get created and solved all the time. The Ultimate goal of war and conflict in my opinion is because of jealousy towards a person or people and for the satisfaction of human needs. Even in Julius Caesar, Mark Anthony and Octavius go up against Brutus and Cassius in a needless war. Why should people have to die without any cause or reason? This is exactly why war and conflict are inevitable in life. How to cite Conflict and war are inevitable in life, Essays

What Should I Write My Astronomy Essay On Example For Students
What Should I Write My Astronomy Essay On ASTRONOMYA New Black HoleScientific AmericanSeptember 13, 2000Evidence that the heavens house a previously unknown type of black hole was reported by scientists yesterday. Data from NASAs Chandra X-Ray Observatory revealed a hole was some 600 light-years from the center of the starburst galaxy M82. The brightness of the x-ray source indicates that this moon-size hole has the mass of at least 500 suns, making it intermediate between stellar black holes and the supermassive black holes found at the centers of galaxies. This opens a whole new field of research, said Martin Ward, a lead author on one of three papers to be published on the subject. No one was sure that such black holes existed, especially outside the centers of galaxies.Earlier data from the Roentgen Satellite and the Advanced Satellite for Cosmology and Astrophysics had suggested that M82 might contain a large black hole outside its nucleus, but the Chandra results seal the deal. The new object might have resulted from t he collapse of a hyperstar or the growth of a smaller black hole through mergers with others nearby. Kate Wong SummaryA new unknown type of black hole was discovered on September 12, 2000. It was found to be 600 light-years of the Starburst Galaxy M82. An x-ray source indicates that the moon-size black hole has the mass of at least 500 suns, making it intermediate between stellar black holes and the supermassive black holes found at the center of galaxies (Scientific America, 1). Scientists were shocked at this discovery, for they didnt know that these types of black holes existed. Scientists believe this black hole may have been due to a collapsed hyperstar or the growth of a smaller black hole through mergers with others nearby. We will write a custom essay on What Should I Write My Astronomy On specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now ReactionI find this so very fascinating because I can not even fathom how space and galaxies exist. With newer and faster technology, come new discoveries, and I think its great that we have the chance to explore a whole new frontier unlike the one we live on. I am in awe of what is possible today through the means of such a technologically advanced society. To know that people are able to leave our earth completely, in search of bigger and better things, utterly blows my mind. The FutureThrough our discoveries we uncover more and are able to advance due to the information that we accumulate. Our work and discoveries lead to new inventions, which in turn change our lifestyle. Scientists are looking toward the future thinking that some day, we may be able to live in space on another planet, and theyre most likely correct. Technology has come so far, and it will continue to advance, as long as there are people on this earth. CurriculumOur school has an astronomy/space type course, however it could be so much stronger. Considering how 0much information there is to discuss about the planets and galaxies, as well as the discoveries that occur everyday, our course could easily be one of our finest. I believe that a class like this could be very popular and interesting due to the constant evolution of technology. Also if enough money was raised, maybe a planetarium could be built for further research and learning. It is unlikely that this could happen in this scho ol district, however it is an idea that would surely benefit those who enjoy astronomy.

Hotel Accommodation Operation Bibliography Hotel Accommodation Operation INTRODUCTIONUp- Selling Greeting GuestsProduct knowledgeFollow-up techniquesCommunication A FEMALE BUSINESS PERSON TRAVELLING ALONELEISURE FACILITIESAccess to information Accommodation- room type LEISURE FACILITIESA SMALL GROUP OF TEN PERSONS ACCOMMODATED IN 5 TWIN ROOMS Access to information Bibliography Related INTRODUCTION Cabot Hotel depends on room revenue rather than selling liquor or food because most of the hotel capital comes from numbers of room sold. However there are different methods of sales technique that Cabot Hotel use to increase room revenue, one is to bring new and old customers to continue to use their establishment rather than their competitor. Good sales technique is one of the important key elements in Cabot Hotel when currying out duties because every customer have different types of needs, by providing the right information and selling the right product and services to the customer at the right time, and persuading guests to pay more for an accommodation and to use the establishment facilities that can increase the business profit. Abbot, P. And Lewry, S. (1999)Baker, et al. (994) Abbot, P. And Lewry, S. (1999) Up- Selling persuade guest during the checking- in to purchase other products starting with the higher price, medium and then lower price or (Abbot and Lewry, 1999) ââ¬Å"other add-ons in order to make more room revenueâ⬠and also giving suggestion on a particular services or product that the hotel offers to encourage guests to use more of the establishment leisure facilities, for example; Sauna and steam room A luxury spa offering a range f luxury treatments for ladies, gentlemen and even for the children Hotel front desk clerk are in an excellent position to captures and encourage more walk-in guests to purchase their products, instead of just welcoming the guests and quoting room rates, the receptionist can start by offering the guest two or there room types and give descriptions of features that will make them seem as appealing as possible, It also important to secure other guests from migrating from other hotels by talking to the guest about other benefits and advantage of the establishment. Greeting Guests When checking-out a guest saying farewell and greeting them in the correct manner it influences on the impression which they will take way with them. When checking-out a guest is good opportunity to encourage the guest to return again in the future by using their first name when saying goodbye and we look forward to seeing you again, that personal touch can encourage the guest to make their next booking there and then. A hotel is kind of second home to some guests and departing can be comfortless time, at that moment he or she is likely to be particularly receptive to the suggestion that you would like to see them back sometime. (Abbot and Lewry, 1999) ââ¬Å"You can ask ââ¬ËI hope you enjoyed your stay?ââ¬â¢, and if you get an affirmative answer, go on to ââ¬Ëare you going to be coming back this way again? Can I make a provisional booking? Even if few guests decide to book again at least you will have a repeat business.Baker, et al. (994) Product knowledge Itââ¬â¢s very important as a receptionist to know about the facilities that Cabot Hotel offers because there might be times when they have to encourage guest to use more of their establishment facilities than they had original intended to do. When checking-in a guest it also important to know exactly the products and services the hotel offers to meet the needs of various customers. For example: Business female guest Families with children Small group of people If the guests continues to use their establishment facilities and return to purchase their products it more likely that their facilities will continue to remain in the business and it can increase the sale result and the company would make profit. Follow-up techniques The follow-up techniques is use to trace back previous customer, there are people who have already had reason to come to your hotel or customer that have most likely been happy with their choice. The company would send email or letter by post to their guests offering them the latest product and services which are available and also other promotional products. Abbot and Lewry(1999) Communication Communication can be verbal and non-verbal.Verbal communication is when speech is use to communicate with a guest and non-verbal is when you use your body language. When dealing with a guest over the telephone or at the desk it very important to treat each guest and their needs with respect because without customer thereââ¬â¢s no business revenue and work, so it important that your voice sound polite, friendly and maintain good eye contact with the guest at all time when taking a booking or dealing with a complain, that can influence the customer to purchase Cabot Hotel products and to use their services again. The Greek gymnasium was for more than just working out. It was also a place for bathing and having scholarly discussions. The founder of the ââ¬Å"cynicâ⬠school of philosophy, Antisthenes, taught in a gymnasium in Athens. The name of his philosophical school is usually explained as a reference to the ââ¬Å"bitingâ⬠sarcasm practiced by its proponents. Cynic is from the Greek kynikos, ââ¬Å"dog-like.â⬠However, the name could have originated from the name of the gymnasium in which Antisthenes taught: Kynosarge, ââ¬Å"Grey Dog.â⬠The prefix gymno (gymn in front of vowels) is frequently encountered in the study of botany and zoology. gymnosperm: ââ¬Å"naked seedâ⬠(evergreens like the pine, hemlock, and fir) gymnorhinal: ââ¬Å"having naked nostrilsâ⬠(some birds have feathers on their nostrils; some donââ¬â¢t) gymnogenous: ââ¬Å"naked when hatchedâ⬠(some birds are born with feathers; some arenââ¬â¢t) The ancient Greeks gave the name gymnosophist to a sect of vegetarian Hindu philosophers who wore little or no clothing. Some gymno words refer to attitudes towards nudity. gymnomania: The obsession of the ââ¬Å"peeping Tomâ⬠; male voyeurism. 2. A compulsion to be naked. 3. An abnormal interest in nakedness. Note: A male voyeur is called a gymnogynomaniac. gymnoscopic A reference to a desire to see naked bodies. gymnoscopy: Sexual pleasure derived from viewing the nakedness of the opposite sex. gymnophily 1. Having a special fondness for being in the nude. An abnormal interest in nakedness. gymnophobia 1. A pathological fear of being naked. A morbid dread of seeing a naked person or of an uncovered part of the body. gymnophoria The sense that someone is mentally undressing you, or that a person is viewing you naked even though you are clothed. Thereââ¬â¢s are even gymno words you can use when talking about the Bible. gymnobiblism: The opinion that the bare text of the Bible, without note or comment, may be safely put before the unlearned as a sufficient guide to religious truth. gymnobiblical (adjective) pertaining to, or holding, this opinion gymnobiblist (noun), a believer in gymnobiblism. Literature Review 'Family Business Sustainability' Essay
Literature Review 'Family Business Sustainability' - Essay Example Frequently a dichotomy is made amid the "family" and "business" where these two aspects forms distinctive subsystems which interact so as to form a complete structure named "family business". When family forces and business forces demonstrably interrelate and impact one another, then scholars agree that a blend is exists among the two aspects, implying a new and exclusive system which is termed a family business. Previous studies sought to define family business in relations to ownership or management and the controlling systems, and also intergenerational transfers, this view offered some insights into the manner of business. (Rosenblatt, 1995) However, this approach had some limitations, currently there has been a shift on how a family business is described and the focus presently is on establishing the business intention and its vision as ways of knowing is the business can be defined as family business. Alongside this new "strategic" perspective of a business, there is also a new approach which looks on the resources (capital, human, knowledge, materials) accessible to a specific business as a method of determining its standing. Resources based view (RBV) of a business suggests a business is a "family business" where the function of a family has a confirmable effect on role and also performance of a particular business. Though the past definitions and descriptions have not been completely replaced, there is a current change in analytical basis to encompass significant elements of business practice, for example visions, culture and intentions. (Rosenblatt, 1995) Business management of family business Business management of family businesses varies deeply from the management of broadly held public businesses. Family owners focus on management and also facilitates making of decisions, that can equally lower management costs and allow unusual though strategically beneficial decisions. (Rosenblatt, 1995) A well-functioning business system assist build trust and conviction in the family, and a excellent family dynamic, which in turn is an asset to the family business since it enables every separate part of management to work better and be able to add extra value whilst remaining inline with the different constituents of the management system. These management benefits can present apparent economic gains. (Rosenblatt, 1995) Nonetheless, a rising business turns into more and more complex and crafts its own requirements for a further formal organizational arrangement or structure. At such a time Family business managers have to adjust their management practices as a result. Certainly, success compels the want to adjust and modify, and every one of family businesses finally face this truth. (Rosenblatt, 1995) The character of Family Ownership Family members mainly have a high focus on management and leadership, on top of having a high emotional connection to the business. A family could have a feeling of moral commitment to other business stakeholders, or view the family business as means for creating a positive input to community. Furthermore, family members at
